Sharing the Wealth 11/11/2013

I saw the original post but didn’t think it brough much value, the reason I’m posting it now is that the Passive Guy puts it in the light it deserves. The idea that ebooks aren’t in sync with consumers is ludicrous. How many people want to regularly convert their book files to another reader? How many prefer another reader? There are issues, there are issues with everything, but I would argue that the majority are pretty happy with the system and perfectly content buying their ebooks from Amazon to read on their kindles or kindle apps.

If you’re thinking about self-publishing but don’t know what all to do, check this out. Joanna Penn is great and has some of the best advice in the industry.

Amazon is offering indie booksellers the option to sell ebooks. That’s a pretty big deal, and revenue stream they wouldn’t have otherwise.

Salon (Via the Passive Guy) explains why Amazon doesn’t make a profit, and how misleading that really is.

I had to put this in just because of the sheer word count this author claims. 15,000 in a day.

Indies Unlimited announced CreateSpace’s extended distribution plan is now free. One more reason for me to be working on that damn book cover…
