Sharing the Wealth: 08/23/2013

Ben Vincent at Storytellers Unplugged has a great post on not getting discouraged about being a writer. Saw this the first day I had no sales. Good to keep this in mind.

Another great one from Chuck Wendig’s Terrible Minds. This time by Stephen Blackmoore. It’s about strategies for getting through points in the story that are holding you up. Especially useful since the second novel’s ending is frustrating me and I’m thinking about scrapping it. The ending, no the novel.

Ryan Casey has a post on how his KDP Select free run has been treating him. Good info for those wondering if that will work for them.

Stephen Hise on Indies Unlimited discusses how Indies will evolve as the stigma fades. As he points out, there is no brand loyalty for book outside the author. No one buys a book because Penguin published it.

On GalleyCat, Jason Boone write about using public domain images to make your own book cover. I like the idea of this, if I can just figure out how to use GIMP.

Everyone have a good weekend!
